Beeston Festival held its Annual General Meeting on Monday (19 January 2026) confirming officer posts and welcoming two new committee members.
The meeting reviewed the 2025 event, which had been a great success. Overall, the cost of the festival at c£35,000 had been as budgeted for, but with fundraising slightly down a £1,000 loss had been made in the year. This was covered from reserves.
With several transactions not yet fully completed the final accounts were not ready to be approved at the meeting, however all known costs have been budgeted for.
Hon Alderwoman Angela Gabriel BEM was re-elected to Chair the festival committee. Hannah Ward was elected as Secretary, Hannah Marshall as Treasurer and Jeremy Morton as Event Manager. Chris White and James Sanderton joined the committee having volunteered at the event previously.
Committee members were allocated to various task groups (fundraising, publicity, stalls, etc) as gets underway for this year’s festival which will take place in Cross Flatts Park on Saturday 27th June 2026.
This year’s festival will reflect the 400th anniversary of Leeds receiving its first Royal City Charter from Charles I. It is anticipated that stall bookings will open towards the end of February.
