Frequently Asked Questions

How much is entrance to the Festival?

Nothing – the Festival is free!

Most of the activities, except the fun fair are free. You will need money if you want to buy anything from the many stalls in the Bazaar or the Food Court. The Barbecue and cafe are run by the Festival itself and we try to keep prices as low as possible.

Can I refill my water bottle?

Yes. You can get unlimited refills of tap water at the cafe.

Where can I park my car?

If you are disabled and hold a Blue Badge, you can park at the top of the park. Please come to the main park gates on Beeston Road.

Other festival visitors should park on nearby streets, but please have consideration for residents’ access.

Why are there No Parking cones on Parkfield Avenue?

Should there be an emergency during the festival, access to the site for blue light vehicles is via the Parks depot. We need to keep Parkfield Avenue clear to ensure emergency vehicles are not held up.

Can I bring my dog to the Festival?

Well behaved dogs (and other pets) are welcome to come to festival, but please be aware that some areas will be quite crowded.

Is there a beer tent?

No, the festival does not have a licence to sell alcohol. This is a deliberate policy as it leads to a more relaxed vibe. People tell us they prefer it that way. We don’t stop people bringing alcohol into the park, but our stewarding team will ask anyone causing anti-social behavior (whether they are drinking or not) to leave the festival.

How do I keep my children safe at the Festival?

Pick up a free wristband from the Children’s tent ot the information desk and write your phone number on it. That way if they do wander off we can ring you to reunite them with you.

The Festival is a generally safe environment. We have volunteers working across the site, keeping their eyes open for any incidents. We have a small security team patrolling the park and the Police are also on site. and whilst children get separated from their parents or carers every year they are usually reunited very quickly. We have not had a serious incident in 30 years.

I’ve lost my child – what should I do?

Contact your nearest Festival volunteer (in a hi-viz tabard) or come to the information desk near the Parks Depot and Main Stage. We will help you find your child.

If we find an unaccompanied child, or child tells us they’ve lost their adults, they will be looked after by DBS-checked volunteers until we find you.
