Beeston Festival is 100% volunteer-run. It is organized by a dedicated committee who work year-round, supported by dozens of local heroes who help make the day happen.
We are always looking for new people to join our friendly team. Whether you can spare an hour or want to help plan the whole event, there is a role for you!
1. Volunteer on the Day
The simplest way to get involved is to help on festival day. While the event runs 12pm–5pm, we need help anytime between 8am and 7pm.
Roles include:
- Logistics: Set-up and pack-down (carrying, lifting, and site prep).
- Stewarding: Guiding visitors and keeping the park safe.
- Food & Drink: Staffing the BBQ or serving at stalls.
- Activities: Helping in the Children’s Breeze Zone or Sports Arena.
- Green Team: Litter picking and waste management.
- Hosting: Chaperoning VIPs and performers.
You can volunteer for just one hour, the whole day, or anything in between.
2. Help Before the Festival
We also need support in the weeks leading up to the event. This is perfect if you can’t make it on the day but still want to contribute.
- Baking & Cooking: Making cakes, samosas, snacks, or jams for our fundraising stalls.
- Site Prep: Helping set up in Cross Flatts Park the day before the festival.
Why Volunteer?
You will meet great new people, learn new skills, have a laugh, and make a tangible difference in the life of our South Leeds community. Many of our volunteers enjoy the experience so much they return year after year.
