Beeston Festival is run by volunteers: a committee who work year-round to organise it, and dozens more who get involved on the day. Read on to find out more: we’re always looking for new people!
The simplest way to help out is to volunteer on the day. The event runs 12pm-5pm, but we need people anytime between 8am-7pm. Roles include: set-up (carrying, lifting, fixing, etc), stewarding, staffing the BBQ or stalls, chaperoning VIPs, ‘waste management’ (!), helping with the kids and sports zones, clearing down at the end, and much more. Volunteers are welcome for an hour, or all day, or anything in between.
You’ll meet great new people, maybe learn new skills, have a laugh, and make a real difference in the life of our community. Indeed, we get great feedback from our volunteers – some enjoy it so much, they come back year after year. (But we are always looking for new recruits!)
And/or we also need people in the lead-up to the festival: putting up posters around the community; making cakes/samosas/snacks/jam/etc for sale on the day; setting up in the park the day beforehand; and more.
Or finally, consider joining the committee (current committee listed below). We meet each month year-round to plan the event, and new members are always very welcome.
If you or people you know want to get involved in any way, or just find out more, please email us: beestonfestival@gmail.com.
Many thanks in advance.
